This review is about my experience back in 2012, but a fellow Yelper replied to me saying that he had a similar experience in 2017. I came to this place because my friend told me about a free xx-point check and some other promotions they were running at the time. The environment is nice and clean, with free WIFI and drinks. After the inspection they told me that my car has a cracked CV boot, needed to replace the serpentine belt, and a few other issues, which came to a total of over $1200. Of course I would want to think about it more carefully, as I basically came there only for a peace-of-mind inspection and not expecting a huge repair bill. More alarmingly is the fact that I just fixed the axle shaft within a year and the serpentine belt within half a year at another mechanic which I trust a lot. However, they were very reluctant to let me leave without doing their suggested repairs. They kept telling me the potential dangers of not fixing the problems, which I kept telling them back that I was aware of. I very much regret it, but feeling pressured, I in the end let them do an oil change and wheel alignment, trying to make both parties somewhat happier. It apparently didn't work the way I had hoped. At payment time, I handed them a coupon (xx off $100), but they said they couldn't add it anymore and I should have given it to them much earlier, although the bill was not even printed out at that time. I didn't want to argue anything at this point and just paid and left. In order to see whether my long-time mechanic is trustworthy, I took my car to the dealer and another independent mechanic. They both said the CV boot was OK and the serpentine belt looked like new! Besides, Honest-1 forgot to put back a fuse (missing not blown) to the braking lights! Apparently Honest-1 was trying to bad-mouth my old mechanics by saying every repair they saw in my glove box was not done properly. I certainly learned my lesson to not keep any of the paperwork in the car when I take it for repair. Maybe it gets better when you become their regular customers, or if you value the environment while you are waiting more than the cost of the repairs, but what I have experienced simply reflects that anything but honesty can be said about this place.
